Why Consider First Aid Training?
Taking a first aid training course could be the most important thing you can ever learn. Simply put, in the event of an emergency, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to deliver potentially life-saving assistance. Whilst there is a requirement for employees to receive this form of training via their workplace, many individuals also decide to undertake first aid training to gain the knowledge and skill set needed to act in case of an emergency. Buddy welcomes both individuals and business groups to our face-to-face courses.
What are the Benefits of First Aid Training?
If given the giving appropriate first aid immediately, it has been proven that it can help to reduce a person’s recovery time and make the difference between the patient having a temporary or long-term disability. A key learning outcome during first aid training is to prepare the first aider to remain calm even during a stressful emergency.
Does First Aid Training Decrease Patient Discomfort?
In short, the answer is yes, it can. Not every situation a first aider might encounter will require the injured or sick to be taken to the hospital. So knowing how to ease the pain they might feel is incredibly important and something which is taught during our courses. Knowing how to act, even just by applying an ice pack correctly, or utilising appropriate bandaging will help to ease discomfort.
First Aid Training Builds Confidence
Your first aid training courses will not only cover the key subject areas such as illnesses and injury but will also explain how to react in an emergency situation which will help instil confidence in those that attend training. By being able to provide basic care you can stabilise a patient until emergency medical services arrive.
You’ll also be trained in how to collect information and data about what happened and the patient’s condition. This information will be passed on to the emergency services, which saves them time – you will be a valuable link in the chain of survival.
Lastly, first aid training also outlines how to provide emotional support by remaining calm and collected which helps to ease discomfort and reduce anxiety levels.
First Aid Training encourages healthy and safe living
A key learning outcome of first aid training is to understand the importance of keeping yourself safe from harm and avoiding danger. This is to ensure your safety is protected is invaluable as it then means you can help implement first aid to those who need it.
Promoting healthy living is also another important part of first aid training. Learning about bad lifestyle habits and the long-term effects they can have gives the first aider a wider view and understanding of potential health hazards and how they can be avoided.
